Initial PDG Commerce Setup


Default Log-in Information

The first step to getting started with PDG Commerce is to familiarize yourself with the software's web based administration panel. To access your PDG Commerce administration panel, click on the link below:

(You may choose to bookmark the following page for future use)

You may change your password for your Admin account, as well as set up addition user accounts with restricted privileges within the "users" section of the administration panel.


Commerce Options Setup


First supply your company’s name and related information to PDG Shopping Cart.

In your Merchant Administrator, go to “Cart Options” from either the main page or from the left navigation frame. Scroll down to the second section entitled “Site Design and Display Elements.” Here you need to supply information to the following fields:

  • Web Site Name: Put the name of your company here. It will be used in various webstore pages throughout your customer’s shopping process.


  • Web Site Text: (optional) If your company has any additional brief text that you would like displayed with your company’s name, supply that here. Common uses for this field include a company tag-line, or a company phone number or email-address.


  • Web Site Logo (image): (optional) If you have a digital image of your company logo, you can upload it to your website, and place the full URL of the image here. This image will them be embedded on various webstore pages generated by PDG Shopping Cart.


E-mail Setup


  • Email Vendor Notifications To: For this field, supply your email address. This is the address where you wish to receive email notifications of orders placed on your webstore.


  • Email Server Address: For this field, supply the fully qualified domain name of your outbound (SMTP) email server. Your hosting company should provide this information if your webstore is running on a shared server.


  • Full name from which e-mails are sent: For this field, supply the display name (or text) you wish to be shown for your outbound emails from PDG Shopping Cart. We often recommend that you put your company’s name here.


Order Logging Setup


  • Order Log text File: You should place the name of your order log file here. You can name it whatever you like. Some companies will put a date in the file name, to help identify when the order log started or ended.
